Working on this cinematic editorial was a true pleasure. Shot on location in Italy, the series carries a cinematic quality with a moody, vintage-inspired atmosphere that I found incredibly rewarding to enhance in post-production. The architecture, natural light, and styling all came together to create something timeless, and my task was to bring out those qualities while keeping the images cohesive and refined.

The retouching process focused heavily on skin and hair, ensuring both looked natural, luminous and consistent across the set. With fashion and editorial work, it’s always important to balance technical polish with authenticity – refining textures, tones and details without ever overworking them. Hair in particular played a subtle but crucial role here, framing the face and contributing to the overall mood of each shot. Every strand needed to feel intentional, every highlight deliberate.

What I enjoyed most was enhancing the contrast and tonal depth to emphasise the cinematic feel – deep shadows, warm highlights and a palette that speaks to vintage film references. At the same time, I aimed to preserve the softness and elegance that define the narrative.

Projects like this remind me why I love working in high-end editorial retouching. They combine artistry and precision and when everything aligns the styling, the photography and the post-production – the final result feels seamless, almost as though the images were pulled from a different time.
