What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Your data and privacy is important to us. We do however collect data like, IP addresses, country of origin, location for statistics purposes, to analyse the traffic to our website and to improve our website and service. This data does not identify you personally. This data is collected by third party. We use Google Analytics and also third party WordPress plugin called Slimstat Analytics which are GDPR compliant. We also connect data for marketing purposes. To try to understand who our visitors are and how can we best serve them. We use Facebook Advertising to collect some data about our visitors.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
